Black Flag have announced a North American Tour, with their newest frontman, professional skateboarder Mike Vallely. After an on-stage firing of Black Flag’s last vocalist, Ron Reyes, and an array of lawsuits and dueling reunions, it seems as if the pivotal SST Records band has calmed down enough to reunite once again with a show at Brick and Mortar on May 22.
An amusing and notable thing about this latest reunion is founding member Greg Ginn taking the liberty to be both headliner and opening act with HOR –– the uncomfortable experimental, electronic side project of Ginn.
Joining Black Flag are Brooklyn’s Cinema Cinema, and all-time favorite locals Scraper and Violence Creeps. Regardless of whether you’re a longtime fan of Black Flag’s legacy or not, be sure to get to the show early to fully appreciate Violence Creeps’ set. Hailing from Oakland, the band is a hard-hitting foursome that features members of Straight Crimes and the Trashies.
