Battlehooch will not only be performing at Awaken Cafe in Oakland every Friday night for the month of April. They will be performing every single Friday night in April and making each performance unique from the other:
Every friday night for a month we will be hosting a night of music and dance with other local acts. Our shows will be presented as a series, where each week will be a completely unique Battlehooch set, with different supporting acts. As a result (and always) we’d encourage you to come to every night of the residency – there will be no repeats!
Here’s a breakdown of the show schedule:
- Friday, April 4th: The Standard (free). New songs and two sets, with Mr. Kind opening.
- Friday, April 11th: Battlehooch unplugged ($5). Just like it sounds – a fully acoustic set, with Kendra McKinley and Steep Ravine opening.
- Friday, April 18th: Cover me slowly ($5). Battlehooch will cover Bay Area bands from both the past and present, with Kill Yr Idols opening (a Sonic Youth cover band).
- Friday, April 25th: Post-apocalyptic Cyborg Battlehooch ($5). An entirely electronic set, with Pine and Mwahaha opening.
If you are due for a Battlehooch show, or if you haven’t yet seen the band perform live (gasp!), April 2014 will be the month to see them do their thing – perhaps all four times!
