Frozen Folk

Oakland’s Frozen Folk, despite their name, are not a folk band at all. Their sound is defined by their unique instrumentation, with extremely technical and often frantic guitar and bass riffs leading the way. Today, we’re excited to share with you their new EP Sleepy, marking yet another local release from Portland’s Breakup Records. The tight rhythm section and high energy riffs are evident across the four tracks on the EP, forming a distinct and cohesive sound that is all their own. Thursday night, Frozen Folk celebrates the release of Sleepy with a show at Amnesia, along with Mosshead and Brasil. It’s sure to be a sweaty good time.
