Noise Pop 2014: Photographers and the Women Who Rock

The work of concert photographers can evoke feelings of nostalgia and inspiration. A group of people who have decided to dedicate their life’s work to capturing live music is pop culture history in the making. Amongst the sweat, dancing, and often times shoving, the person who was able to preserve Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips perfectly in his giant bubble is a new kind of historian.

That’s why we urge our readers to check out Noise Pop’s Photographers and the Woman Who Rock show on Friday, February 28 at San Franpsycho from 6:00 – 8:00pm.

Compiled entirely of select images from Noise Pop photographers throughout the years, the show is dedicated to the images that have captured the raw power and exuberance of the female performer.

Musicians include St. Vincent, Beth Ditto of the GossipDanielle Haim of HAIM, and Thao from Thao and the Get Down Stay Down among many others.

Contributing photographers include local Bay Area artists such as Peter EllenbyPaige Parsons, Tara GravesDebra ZellerCharlie HomoMike Rosati, Josh WithersHeather BernardJulie Schuchard, and Josh Sanseri.

All images are available for purchase, and if you bring a light colored shirt you can get a limited edition San Franpsycho t-shirt. It’s Noise Pop’s special way  to pay tribute to female musicians, so bring a t-shirt and check out some fantastic photography before you get your night started.
