Happy Diving have released quite the EP early on this year: a small collection of four tracks, the self-titled release is a series of power-pop ditties underneath a layer of fuzzed out noise. Set to be released on Father Daughter Records, the EP follows the criteria for sad college rock (in the best possible way, of course): love sick lyrics behind a sludge of distortion are common in the tracks.
In support of their EP, the group have released a music video for their track “Never Been,” which includes the band performing under multiple exposures with some psychedelic lighting. The EP is already up for digital download, but a cassette release is due on February 18.
Be sure to catch these guys performing alongside Syracuse’s buzzed about Perfect Pussy and San Francisco’s Wild Moth on March 21 at the Rickshaw Stop.
