If caffeinated Catholics are the only things that come to mind when you hear the words SAINT PEPSI, you clearly haven’t been paying enough attention to the Internet. The New York-based producer is making his West Coast debut this Saturday at F8 (1192 Folsom) with Glenn Jackson, Hawtline, and DJ Cool Greg. Don’t miss your chance to catch a rare glimpse of the mysterious artist… outside of a Tinychat window, that is.

While the lush, sample-laden “liquid disco” sounds of SAINT PEPSI started to catch on during last year’s fleeting vaporwave craze, his surprisingly spot-on edit of “Call Me Maybe” and subsequent Hit Vibes LP kept the fire burning through present day. Employing a slightly spacier, funkier brand of post-R&B synth beats akin to the likes of Ryan Hemsworth and Giraffage, SAINT PEPSI is holding his own as a another, even younger force to be reckoned with.
You already know Oakland’s Glenn Jackson as a DJ, producer, one half of James & Evander, and evangelist of nearly all things electronic audio. He’ll be warming up the decks with a live set of sweet and juicy solo bangers to keep you moving on the dancefloor, so plan on arriving early. Hawtline will support the gig, rounded out with a vinyl DJ set from Cool Greg of Professional Fans. Pyramids, Bobby Peruu, Neto, and Witomaker are scheduled to DJ in the backroom.
