There’s been a lot of talk about the end times of San Francisco’s psych scene, and its subsequent migration to the southern part of the state, lately. From this new generation of L.A. fuzz comes the excellent Jesus Sons, who, having gotten their start in San Francisco, made the move down south in April of last year. This floppy-haired, floppy-hatted gang look and sound like California in the ‘60s and ’70s, with hardly an ounce of irony clouding their aesthetic.
Jesus Sons just released a self-titled LP with Mock Records and they’re coming to town to promote it. You can watch them bob around like Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem at Brick and Mortar on the 16. It might look a little something like this:
