While Valentine’s day is pretty much the couple’s equivalent to Go Skateboarding Day for people who actually skate every day, or April 20 for stoners, and also kind of like the single person’s version of what 4th of July must feel like for the British, there’s no reason not to use it as an excuse to have some fun. Whether you’ve snagged a date or made plans to roll solo, if you enjoy tearing up dance floors and still miss a certain North American project fronted by James Murphy, spend your Valentine’s Day celebrating the music of one of the few truly original dance bands of its generation.
Headlined by San Francisco’s own LCD Soundsystem cover band North American Scum, American Tripps presents “A Very LCD Soundsystem Valentine’s Day” this Friday at the Verdi Club, and we have a pair of tickets for you! Candy’s Crush and DJ Wasley Frazee will be filling out the soundspace before the main event, and of course, in classic American Tripps fashion, the night will include Berlin style ping-pong as well as some special Valentine’s Day vibes.
To enter for a chance to win tickets to see North American Scum at Verdi Club, email lauren.espina@thebaybridged.com with “North American Sum” in the subject line and your full name and email address in the body of the email. A winner will be selected at random and notified via email.
