Oakland’s Brasil released a video for the track “Stay in Town” off their self-titled LP. The track is a great reminder that Jasper Patrick Leach is an outstanding frontman, with his mile-a-minute vocals urging folks to remain in Oakland no matter what happens. The visuals include what appears to be vintage Oakland promotional footage, ending with some shameless dance moves from the lads in Brasil splitting time with some adorable astronaut monkeys. What more could you ask for in a video? Leach tells me Brasil has a busy 2014 planned: They’ll begin recording their sophomore LP sometime this summer, with a cassette release and a tour thrown in for good measure. You can catch them at a couple local shows over the next couple months, beginning with a free show at the Uptown in Oakland February 12.
