The first Saturday of the month is upon us, and you know what that means–another sweaty, sexed-up night of dancing at Push The Feeling, Lower Haight’s premiere monthly dance party series, fronted by resident DJ’s epicsauce and YR SKULL. The First of February brings local groove-maestros Loose Shus, The Beat Broker, and Hotthobo to Underground SF.
San Francisco’s Loose Shus (a.k.a. Dave Luzius) will be celebrating the official record release party for his second EP that evening. Loose Shus (the EP) is out now on Voltaire Records. You can sample that shit below. “Two years in the making, this self-titled EP combines modern funk, cosmic disco, and experimental synth boogie,” the label explains. The local John Carpenter-esque disco-boogie producer also has new music videos for the tracks “Ladies” and “Saturation”.
The Beat Broker, the synth-heavy project of San Francisco’s Ryan Bishop, is still fresh off the release of 2013’s Limited Time and his recent Classy Dancer XI mixtape. Get super pumped for one of his ultra-rare DJ sets this Saturday night. Randy Ellis, a Sweater Funk regular and co-founder of Voltaire Records, will DJ as Hothobo. As always, epicsauce and YR SKULL will maintain a cool vibe on the decks throughout. Entry is free before 10pm (with RSVP), and six bucks thereafter.
