Depending on the guest list, birthday parties can be a hit or miss affair, but The Magik*Magik Orchestra has assembled quite the lineup of performers for its fifth birthday celebration on January 31 at the Fox Theater. Over the past half-decade, the acclaimed San Francisco orchestra has collaborated with a wide variety of great indie bands, and plenty of past collaborators are among the star-studded lineup. Seriously, The Dodos, John Vanderslice, Nicki Bluhm & the Gramblers, How to Dress Well, Geographer, Rogue Wave, Two Gallants, The Lonely Forest, Diana Gameros and Zoe Keating? That’s a guest list that can’t be beat.
