Virgil Shaw

Singer-songwriter Virgil Shaw recently released a new LP entitled New Mid City, with his longtime band The Killer Views again joining him in the studio for what is a moving batch country-infused acoustic rock. Shaw, who lives in Portland but who grew up in Fairfax, played with Brent’s T.V. in Arcata, and later fronted SF band Dieselhed, solicited the services of City-denizen (and friend of The Bay Bridged) Kelley Stoltz on engineering and production duties, and The Killer Views share full credit on the album for the first time since Shaw embarked on his solo career more than a decade ago. Stream or purchase New Mid City below, via Shaw’s Bandcamp page, and don’t miss this video of him performing album-cut “Montreal” in an intimate acoustic performance.
