Portland-via-Brooklyn duo Pure Bathing Culture creates seamless, folk-fringed music on their debut Moon Tides, out earlier this year via Partisan Records. The new album, featuring Sarah Versprille’s sweet voice and Daniel Hindman’s cloaking guitar-work, garnered them some serious recognition as creating one of the year’s best, and even led them to our very own Brick & Mortar last spring.
Now, Pure Bathing Culture has announced another local show this January 20 at the Chapel (co-headlining with La Luz) and, just a couple days ago, they released a cover of Jessie Ware’s “Wildest Moments” via Rookie Magazine. Their velvety, dreamy take on Ware’s version adds a silvery synth-pop sheen to an already evocative track.
Check out Pure Bathing Culture’s cover below, and see the details on their date at the Chapel to catch them live.
