MondreM.A.N., half of the East Bay cloud rap duo Main Attrakionz, dropped his debut solo album last week on SF label SWTBRDS. It’s called They Say I Struggle Rap, and you can check out single “Atta Boy”, which features MondreM.A.N.’s fellow Main Attrakion Squadda B plus fellow local rappers DaVinci and Shady Blaze, right here:

If you’ve paid any attention to Bay Area hip hop the past few years, then you’re well-acquainted with Main Attrakionz. If you’re not, you should know that being a fan is almost an embarrassment of riches.

The breakout moment for Main Attrakionz came in 2011 with the mixtape 808s and Dark Grapes II, which not only put the duo on the map, but featured a then-relatively-unknown ASAP Rocky on a track called “Take 1” produced by Clams Casino. That mixtape is a free download, and you can grab a copy here. (If you think you’ve heard “Take 1” before, that’s probably because ASAP Rocky used the song on his own breakout album, Live.Love.A$AP., as “Leaf”.)

After that auspicious beginning, Main Attrakionz continued to drop an endless stream of mixtapes, many of which are also free downloads (find more here, here, and here). Their proper debut album, Bossalinis & Fooliyones, came out late last year.

They Say I Struggle Rap comes just two months after MondreM.A.N. and Squadda B put out yet another mixtape, this time with several members of their Green Ova crew, GreenOVA Life (tha ice tape):
