Parson Red Heads

Portland’s psychy country rock troubadours The Parson Red Heads have graced Bay Area stages numerous times over the years. Their latest visit, to The Chapel this Friday night, finds the band celebrating the release of the brand new Orb Weaver LP. We’re pleased to premiere the Parson Red Heads’ video for “Every Mile,” an effervescent rock-pop number accompanied by visuals inspired by a warped VHS aesthetic. As guitarist Evan Way explained:

Basic idea of the video – trying to make a lyric video that is still interesting to watch (which is a challenge…a lot of times they are really boring!). Used old VHS live footage of the band playing a set at The Echo (in LA). Has a great lo-fi VHS look, super grainy and old-school. Then went with that aesthetic – captured and used a lot of good VHS / analog fuzz and flicker, some artifacting and tape malfuction snippets, to sort of break up the footage.

Below, enjoy a set the band performed recently for Oregon Public Broadcasting.
