Brodie Jenkins and David Luning credit their folksy musical style to their roots: before eventually establishing Ghost and Gale as an SF-based musical duo, both grew up in Sonoma County, a rustic escape north of the big city. Today, we’re proud to premiere the lush and enchanting “Beautiful Lie,” from Ghost and Gale’s debut EP. The EP officially comes out on November 14th, and will be celebrated with a release show at Amnesia that same day.
The duo has started releasing a series of video teasers for the EP in addition to “Beautiful Lie” (and “Rosemary”, which was featured on Indie Shuffle yesterday) – the first two are available now, with more to be released between now and the 14th. Keep your eyes peeled for more teasers on their Facebook page.
It’s worth noting that Ghost and Gale appear to have a particular appreciation for the medium of video as a showcase for their music. Earlier this year, the duo’s Kickstarter to make a very cinematic video for “Take Me to the Fire” was successfully funded, resulting in an above-average music video experience – certainly more epic in scale than your average indie music video, and overall a beautiful and engaging piece of art.
