Olympia, Washington’s You Are Plural have made the trek down to San Francisco multiple times over the past few years. They must really like us! Or maybe it’s just that singer/Wurlitzer-maestro Ephriam Nagler is that rarest of beasts, a Bay Area native, and he just can’t stay away.
Either way, the band is rolling through town once again to play on Sunday with “one-woman orchestra” Zoe Keating at The Chapel. The occasion for this particular jaunt down the coast? You Are Plural is touring in support of their debut full-length album, Rabbit Rabbit. In fact, this Sunday’s show at The Chapel is their record release party.
Check out a couple tracks (and pre-order the album, which is available on vinyl, if that’s your thing) right here:
If you’ve caught You Are Plural in the past or listened to either of the EPs they’ve released, you might have heard something surprising on those two tracks: drums!
The band has added full-time drummer Chad Austinson to drop some tasty beats into the mix alongside the contributions of Nagler and cellist/vocalist Jen Grady, and the results have definitely amped up the group’s sound without sacrificing any of the gorgeous melodies we’ve all come to expect. No wonder the band says “The Best Is Yet To Come,” eh?
