The Total Trash Halloween Bash kicks off Thursday night at the Stork Club with a evening of covers from NOBUNNY (as Bo Diddley), Shannon and The Clams (as Los Saicos), among others, and the party continues through the weekend with two nights featuring The Sonics and a closing gig headlined by together PANGEA. And guess what? We’ve got THREE PAIRS OF TICKETS to each show to give away.
The inclusion of legendary ’60s protopunkers The Sonics takes this year’s Total Trash lineup over the top. After their somewhat under-the-radar, but hugely influential run, the group disbanded in 1968, before reforming almost 40 years later in 2007, and they’ve been touring ever since and even released a new EP 8 in 2010. Their addition to the bill led over very own MBL to proclaim, “You can take Coachella and stuff it. I’ve been itching to hear some news on Total Trash 5. Word is out. Dates are set. Brace yerselves…The filthiest fest is back.” Below, learn how to enter for a chance to win tickets, listen to The Sonics’ cover of Richard Berry’s “Have Love, Will Travel” (which The Black Keys also covered for both Thickfreakness and The Moan EP), and get full details on all four nights of the Total Trash Halloween Bash.
To enter for a chance to win tickets to one night of the Total Trash Halloween Bash, email email@example.com with “Total Trash” in the subject line and your full name, email address, and which show you want to see in the body of the email. Winners will be selected at random and notified via email.
