SKATERS

Earlier this month, New York City’s SKATERS kicked off a West Coast tour with London’s indie rock sweethearts, Palma Violets, and they’re making a stop in the Bay Area at UC Berkeley’s Eshleman Hall tomorrow, October 18, at 5:00pm for a free show. Fresh off of the release of their latest music video for “Deadbolt,” which premiered only days ago on The New Musical Express, the gritty garage rock group is building some serious momentum leading up to its anticipated debut album.

Crafted at Jimmy Hendrix’s Electric Lady studio in New York and due to be released on February 24 via Warner Bros., the record was, according to lead singer and chief songwriter Michael Ian Cummings, designed to capture the urgency of New York City. He describes, “This is a band that formed in New York and drew all its inspiration from the pace and energy of Manhattan. This album is a fast account of the way we live… a taste at least.”

After one last gig in Los Angeles, SKATERS will be traveling back to the UK, where they’ve been hailed as a vintage-inspired lo-fi pop band that does it better than the rest. Check the tour dates below to see if the band is stopping in your city.
