Cass McCombs – "Brighter!" (feat. Karen Black)

Cass McCombs just shared a collaboration with the late Karen Black off his forthcoming double LP, Big Wheel and Others. On “Brighter!” McCombs doesn’t sing at all, letting Black take over vocal duties on the dark, rainy daydream of a song. Karen Black, best known from her work as an actress in the ’70s, passed away last month. Black and McCombs also collaborated on McCombs’ 2009 track “Dreams Come True Girl”, that was interpreted in an amazing video (which happened to be filmed at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma.) McCombs will tour the country this fall, with stops in Felten and the Great American in November. “Brighter!” and the video for “Dreams Come True Girl” are below.
