The Rides – a new supergroup consisting of the one-and-only Stephen Stills, highly tauted guitar wunderkind Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and legendary blues keyboardist Barry Goldberg – formed as the result of a jam session with Stills and Shepherd during Super Bowl XLVI in February 2012. Following that sesh, the man best known for his work with Crosby, Stills, & Nash (& sometimes Young) invited Shepherd to join him in creating an homage to his classic 1968 album with keyboardist Al Kooper and guitarist Mike Bloomfield, Super Session. Eventually joined by Goldberg (perhaps best known for forming The Electric Flag with Bloomfield following the latter’s departure from The Butterfield Blues Band in 1967), the result was The Rides’ new blues rock record Can’t Get Enough, released in August on 429 Records.
Now, Stills, Shepherd, and Goldberg have hit the road, with a stop scheduled at The Fillmore next Wednesday, September 25 as part of the venue’s Fall at The Fillmore series, and the fine folks at San Francisco’s musical mecca were kind enough give us a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky reader of The Bay Bridged. Below, get full details on how to enter for your chance to win those tickets to check out the latest supergroup to roll through the corner of Geary and Fillmore, and listen to the entirety of “Can’t Get Enough”, full of not only original modern blues tracks, but also a handful of familiar covers, too.
