Nine years ago, Arcade Fire released its seminal debut album Funeral, giving music connoisseurs and indie rock savants something fresh to obsess over. After two (almost three!!!) more LPs, the Montreal-based outfit has solidified a lush, atmospheric place in rock and roll history, as well as in the hearts of musicians from around the world, including the Bay Area’s own Maryam Qudus, who is best-known under her moniker DOE EYE.
For the first installment of rock and literature magazine Radio Silence’s new show series featuring local artists covering the work of their musical idols, Maryam and her band will be performing Arcade Fire’s Funeral from start to finish, as well as a set of original songs, this Sunday, September 22nd, at Brick & Mortar. The show will be the third stop on DOE EYES’s US tour, and we have three pairs of tickets to give away!
To enter this contest, email lauren.espina@thebaybridged.com with “DOE EYE” in the subject line and your full name and email address in the body of the email. A winner will be selected at random and notified via email.
A portion of the proceeds will go towards local arts education here in San Francisco, so tell your friends! Do it for the kids.
