Atlanta native and current Berkeley resident Kristian Rodriguez released a very solid acoustic folk album, Evergreen, that heavily featured his voice layered in harmonies to create some interesting moments you won’t find on your typical solo folk album. Unfortunately, it’s somewhat difficult to harmonize with yourself in a live setting. Luckily, Rodriguez recently added a full band that he debuted this summer at Hotel Utah. As you can hear below on the title track from Evergreen, it was a good move. The dreamy vibe almost drifts into jam-band territory at times, but always seem to stay under control. Rodriguez will play the Stork Club with his band September 18.
