We at The Bay Bridged have been holding out on you. Behold, The New Thoreaus! Born in Oakland in 2007 as a group of musical Special Ed teachers, the band just released it’s first record, Neon Americana, back in February. They have already been compared to everyone from Beirut to Broken Social Scene and Tom Waits. Decide for yourselves this Saturday at Berkeley’s fabulous Starry Plough. The gorgeous instrumentation and harmonies will not disappoint.
