Video: The Dodos perform new song "The Ocean" at Tiny Telephone with Yours Truly

The Dodos are ramping up for the release of their fifth album and Polyvinyl debut, Carrier, out August 27th. During the long hours they’ve spent inside of Tiny Telephone these past months, Yours Truly stopped in for a live performance with the Magik*Magik Orchestra of the new album’s final track, “The Ocean.” This wasn’t the first time The Dodos worked with the orchestra, and the comments on this collaboration from director Minna Choi are pretty spot on: the string arrangement baked in a very oceanic texture to an already beautiful song.

The Dodos’ next local show will be during First City Festival” in Monterey next weekend, just before hitting the road with Bleeding Rainbow and Dustin Wong (tour dates are after the jump). Their FCF set is Sunday afternoon (8/25), and tickets are still available.
