Push the Feeling 8/3

Get ready for another installment of Push The Feeling, now taking place the first Saturday of each month instead of Friday. Stop by Underground SF tomorrow, August 3, to catch live sets from Devonwho and K-Maxx, plus DJ sets from founder-residents epicsauce and YR SKULL.

Boogie down with San Francisco funk-master K-Maxx (Ken Hopkins), who released a new K-Maxx / Sweater Funk Presents EP in April. In the past, he has collaborated with Too Short, Dan the Automator, Andre Nickatina and Tower of Power’s Lenny Williams. Currently, K-Maxx is featured on the Private Function compilation from Voltaire Records, showcasing the latest in Modern Funk. Stream tracks from his latest EP below.

San Francisco-via-Portland producer Devonwho will keep the party going into the night with his funk-influenced, forward-leaning hip-hop beats. Devonwho will release his next full-length LP Perfect Strangers on August 13 via Dropping Gems. According to XLR8R, the repackaged, 19-track Perfect Strangers album compiles beats featured on two original, self-released EPs, complete with bonus remixes. Stream “Cactus” below.

The party on Saturday is free before 10pm, and $6 thereafter. RSVP on Facebook.
