Adios to the old, hola to the new: Indie folk poppers Adios Amigo aren’t just playing a completely new set of songs on June 29 at Milk Bar— they’ll pretty much be a completely new band, too. Call it Adios Amigo…Dos.
The band put out its second EP Dos last year and has spent the first half of 2013 writing and recording brand new material, which will be released some time in September. The band still mostly revolves around singer/guitarist/frontman Johnny Major, but “the new lineup has been writing new material together and is turning into a more collaborative project,” according to Major.
Wanna see the new Adios Amigo play its new tunes live—for free??? Email me at mike.g@thebaybridged.com and tell me en español why you want these tickets (Spanglish is also acceptable, for the less linguistically-inclined). The contest closes on Friday, June 28 at 12pm, and I’ll pick a winner based on the answers I get and notify the lucky reader by email.
Here’s the video for “Chicken”, a track from Dos that we premiered right here on The Bay Bridged last year:
