Sugar Candy Mountain just released a video for “Soak Up The City” off their forthcoming Saudade Love LP. The track was written by frontman Will Halsey and local favorite Ash Reiter, and features Matt Adams of The Blank Tapes on guitar. The song initially seems like a classic surf song and the video initially seems like a classic surf-movie, but both add elements that make it fresh, such as a guitar that sounds like a kazoo and footage of Kurt Russell jumping from a surfboard to a convertible. Saudade Love is slated for a July 30 release, and “Soak Up The City” can be downloaded for free from the Sugar Candy Mountain Bandcamp page.
