Music Video Race

We have two pairs of tickets to give away for the Music Video Race Screening Party & Awards Show at Rickshaw Stop this Saturday, June 15. If you are interested in getting hooked up, read on.

In case you haven’t heard, MVR is back for its second year. The event randomly pairs 20 musicians with 20 acclaimed local filmmakers to make 20 original music videos. At Rickshaw’s screening party on Saturday, each of the 20 music videos will be screened for a live audience, as well as industry bigwigs such as Katie Gillum (Managing Director of the Disposable Film Fest), Cheryl Eddy (San Francisco Bay Guardian A&E Senior Editor), and Allen Cordell (Beach House, Waters, Cloud Nothings). After they evaluate the videos, a panel from Noise Pop will select the best song, and awards will be given out to the winners.

This video showcase for local talent was organized by Tim Lillis, a designer/illustrator for Good Magazine and Google, and Jacquelyn Marker, a producer on Mythbusters. Artists participating in this years event include Battlehooch, Sunbeam Rd., Giggle Party, Sun Hop Fat, Spontaneous Respiration, Scissors For Lefty, Whiskerman, Happy Fangs, Not the 1s, Ash Reiter, Magic Fight, Callow, clintongore, Futurebrite, A-1, Frozen Folk, Growwler, Animal Friend, Mammoth Life, and Quinn DeVeaux. Magic Fight, Animal Friend, and DJ Mauby will perform live sets at the event. Watch the trailer for the Music Video Race 2013 below.
