100s

Berkeley’s 100s released a video for his track “1999”, and it confirms that 100s is a star in the making if you didn’t catch that already. In making me officially feel old, 100s “throws it back” to the year 1999, when Hype Williams was directing hip hop videos on yachts and Juvenile was a star. Despite the retro sentiment expressed in the song and video, the track sounds as fresh and new as can be. 100s seems to have the foundation of stardom in place as he comes as hard as humanly possible while rocking a black turtleneck and a scarf. No, the lyrics aren’t exactly thought-provoking unless you’re into Big Tymers references, but that just means 100s still has room to improve. Keep in mind that 100s isn’t yet 21 – it will be a lot of fun to watch him grow as an artist. He recently signed to Fool’s Gold records, the label founded by DJs A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs, and a yet-to-be recorded EP is in the works. Check out the video for “1999” below.
