Sic Alps reel in their psychedelic mentality on their latest She’s on Top EP in favor of some more straightforward garage rock. “Biz Bag”, premiered on Pitchfork, offers some tightly knit, ‘70s inspired rock ‘n’ roll, complete with a crescendo-ing guitar solo at the peak. It’s certainly more melodic than the Sic Alps we’ve known, but far from something too polished to be true garage rock. Sort of like trading acid trips for beer romps.
Likewise is the title track, “She’s on Top”, the first video to be dropped from the three song set. The video consists of a chop and cut of what looks like home videos, modeling sessions with teary eyed girls, and of course, how could it be complete without smashing a TV with a crowbar? Keep a lookout for the next two videos from She’s on Top, to be premiered on Tiny Mix Tapes in the coming weeks.
