The time has come to mentally prepare yourselves for a night of face-melting psych epics, as Tjutjuna opens for Japanese psych legends Acid Mothers Temple at
Following a couple lineup changes since the release of their self-titled debut in 2010, Denver’s Tjutjuna (pronounced “choo-choo-na”) is releasing a new instrumental psych-rock album called Westerner, out April 30 on Fire Talk. The band, now consisting of Brian Marcus, Robert Ballantyne, Fernando Garcia, James Barone, and Adam Shaffner, is supporting Acid Mothers Temple on a 31-date North American tour that wraps up two nights after the bands swing through Bottom of the Hill. Stream two tracks off Tjutjuna’s new album below.
3 Leafs, a San Francisco-based psychedelic rock collective, will open the tour’s stop in the City. The band consists mainly of Warren Huegel, Josh Pollock, Tim Cohen (The Fresh & Onlys, Magic Trick), Chris Cones, Ezee Tiger, and Diego Gonzalez, plus a rotating cast of collaborators. 3 Leafs is planning to release a new vinyl LP this year.
The 21+ show starts around 10pm on Friday, allowing ample time to score some last-minute acid tabs on Haight Street (I mean…just kidding).
