File this one under ‘one to watch’: Oakland-via-France songwriter Morgan Manifacier has dropped his first single, “Cold Countries,” from his upcoming record Hues and Calm. A darker-than-dark waltz made for the rainiest of days, “Cold Countries” is a bold and tantalizing hint at a record that we’re betting will put him on the proverbial map for Bay Area folk fans.
You can stream the song below. It’s also available for free download via Bandcamp.
Hues and Calm hits merch tables and the wider web this spring. He’ll also be playing Hotel Utah on March 17th.
