The Blank Tapes

After a long hiatus, SF-via-SoCal’s The Blank Tapes, has announced plans for a new record, Vacation, out May 14th on Oakland’s Antenna Farm Records. Though the sun-and-surf vibe is a hallmark of The Tapes’ work, Vacation promises a stronger retro influence than previous projects. It also marks the first Blank Tapes release recorded in a studio.

The Blank Tapes will tour heavily in support of Vacation, kicking it all off with a Noise Pop show at the Hemlock tomorrow, 2/27/13.

You can preview “Coast to Coast,” a tightly-tuned tribute to ’60s surf pop and Vacation‘s first single, below.
