Local favorites Thee Oh Sees recently announced a two-night stand at The Independent on January 11th and 12th, and they didn’t scrimp when booking the supporting acts – Sic Alps and Warm Soda open the first night, and Warm Soda returns with The Mallard on night number two.
Unless you’ve been living in a hole, you know that John Dwyer and company had an eventful 2012, releasing their eleventh studio album Putrifiers II, participating in the great tribute to The Velvet Underground & Nico, and dropping a split 7″ with The Mallard as part of Brooklyn label Famous Class’ LAMC series. So far, Putrifiers II has spawned two singles, “Lupine Dominus” and “Flood’s New Light”, the former of which is accompanied by one of the more colorful (read: NSFW) videos produced this year. Check it out below, and be sure to catch Thee Oh Sees and their all-star openers in January down in the Western Addition, the Alamo Square Historic District, NoPa, or whatever they’re calling that neighborhood these days.
