Canadian wunderkinds Japandroids are coming back to the City next Monday, continuing to ride the wave of their second full-length album, June’s Celebration Rock. Just nine days after that album dropped, Brian King and David Prowse played a headlining gig at The Independent (capacity: 500), but now the duo returns to the mother of all San Francisco venues, the legendary Fillmore, and its 1,200 capacity – what a difference five months can make!
The fine folks at The Fillmore were generous enough to give us one pair of of tickets to Japandroids’ show (which features L.A.’s Bleached supporting), so one lucky The Bay Bridged reader will be be catching Japandroids’ gig at The Fillmore free-of-charge.

Japandroids recently dropped the video for Celebration Rock‘s first single – the all-out, fist-pumping indie rock anthem “The House That Heaven Built” – and it’s a beauty. A frenetic montage of black-and-white scenes from the band’s recent tour, including live shots, backstage antics, and shooting at airborne Molotov cocktails (seriously), the video was directed by Jim Larson and released via Pitchfork.tv.
