Prepare for a raucous weekend of Halloween debauchery with the Total Trash Halloween Bash, with special performances by legendary San Francisco rock band The Coachwhips, the first in seven years. The fest will take place over three nights starting October 26th, through the 28th.
The Friday night pre-party will take place at The New Parish in Oakland, with performances from Nobunny, Shannon and the Clams, Audacity, and Uzi Rash. Saturday’s festivities turn San Francisco’s Verdi Club into a haunted house with a rare performance from The Coachwhips, featuring support from Traditional Fools, Moonhearts, Amplified Heat, Olneyville Sound System, and Burnt Ones. Sunday will close out the weekend with an all ages show at Lobot Gallery in Oakland, featuring another performance by The Coachwhips, plus Pangea, FIDLAR, Guantanamo Baywatch, and White Mystery. Both the Saturday and Sunday events are sold out, but there will be a small number of tickets available at the door for each night.
The Coachwhips’ performances reunite John Dwyer of Thee Oh Sees with drummer John Harlow and Mary Ann McNamara on keyboard/tambourine/vocals. The three-piece noise-punk rock outfit formed in San Francisco circa 2001. To commemorate all these reunions happening at this year’s Total Trash Fest, Burger Records will be releasing a limited edition cassette tape of The Coachwhips’ Bangers vs. Fuckers album. In the Red Records will also be reissuing the Traditional Fools’ out of print self-titled LP.
Get Bent paired up with Total Trash to release a guest mix featuring several Total Trash performers, including Coachwhips, Ty Segall, Shannon and the Clams, Pangea, Burt Ones, and King Tuff. Listen to the mix below.
