Corin Tucker Band, the latest project from the former Sleater-Kinney singer and guitarist, is dropping by Cafe Du Nord tonight with Mecca Normal supporting. The Portland quartet – comprised of Ms. Tucker, guitarist Seth Lorinczi (The Golden Bears), drummer Sara Lund (Unwound), and bassist Mike Clark (Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks) – is wrapping up a North American tour in support of its second album Kill My Blues, released September 18th on Kill Rock Stars.

Kill My Blues is the follow-up to the band’s 2010 debut 1,000 Years and features some themes that are quite the departure from those found in the rest of this former riot-grrrl’s catalog, including motherhood and her own mortality. Stream and download the record on Kill Rock Stars’ Bandcamp page, and check out the foot stomp-inducing indie-punk track “Groundhog Day” below, along with full details on tonight’s gig at Cafe Du Nord.
