The annual Waves to Wine bike ride will cruise across the golden gate bridge in just a few weeks (September 22-23). The two-day, 175-mile ride is a major fundraiser for the National MS Society, and money goes directly to innovative programs, services and research. There are more than 180 teams riding this year, including one very special team…

Team Menstrual Cycles is the little team that could. Sporting quite a few biker gynecologists (bicycle that is) and the most amazing team shirts around (available for purchase!), they have grown to be top fundraisers for the cause, bringing in over $100k last year. This year, the team is thrilled to announce an amazing fundraiser at The Blue Macaw on Saturday, September 15th.

Incredible musical guests include Will Sprott and The Ian Fays. There will be an auction of fabulous items at 6pm and live music at 9pm. Suggested donation is $10 for those participating in the auction, and $20 if you arrive after 9 (but no one with a kind heart will be turned away). If you can’t make it (or can’t wait to give money), donate here now, and while you are at it, RSVP on Facebook, so they are sure to have enough tacos out front on the truck!

Bay Bridged readers know these musical guests well. If you haven’t had the pleasure yet, get to know them now:

The Ian Fays are a very rare specimen. The band includes three sisters, two of whom are twins. Together they create sweet n’ sour pop treasures that cover topics as diverse as “Barrettes” and “Peppermint Schnapps.”

Will Sprott writes achingly soulful songs rarely heard this side of Memphis. He is the mastermind behind San Jose’s The Mumlers and continues to impress with his solo work.

Enjoy both of these local treasures while raising money for a very good cause!
