Maria Minerva is the alias of London-based and Tallinn, Estonia native lo-fi pop artist Maria Juur. As part of her first ever U.S. tour this September, she will be performing at the Rickshaw Stop on September 30th in support of her new LP Will Happiness Find Me? (out September 4th on LA record label Not Not Fun). “The Sound” is her new single off that upcoming release, and it features a “looped sample of a quote from the Maharishi about transcendental meditation” transitioning into Maria’s post-disco dance floor jam.

Maria Minerva’s debut album Tallinn At Dawn was released last year on the same label, gaining press attention with her dreamy single “California Scheming” (her video for the track is below). Her psychedelic bedroom pop style continued to progress throughout 2011 with a load of subsequent releases, including her Noble Savage EP, Cabaret Cixous CD/LP, and Sacred and Profane Love EP on Not Not Fun and its label extension 100% Silk. Maria’s brand of hypnotic, eclectic avant-pop is sure to translate well onstage.

EpicSauce DJs will be presenting the show at Rickshaw on September 30th. Father Finger, the electronic project of Kylie Lance, will be performing, as well as Oakland’s Bobby Browser (aka André Ferreira).
