Six Organs of Admittance — the psych-folk solo brainchild of guitarist Ben Chasny — recently shared a track entitled “One Thousand Birds” off the latest album Ascent via SoundCloud. The epic, six-plus-minute journey to the center of the universe features Chasny’s gentle vocals drifting over an ample dose of eerie, distortion-filled guitar. Take a listen below. Ascent dropped August 21st on Drag City.
Chasny also just announced a handful of West Coast dates in late September and early October, including a visit to Bottom of the Hill on September 22nd fronted by Young Moon, a new project from Trevor Montgomery (Lazarus, Tarentel, The Drift).
