On September 4th, Omaha, NE duo Azure Ray will release their new six song EP As Above So Below, the first new material for members Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink together since 2010’s Drawing Down The Moon. The album’s initial single, “Scattered Like Leaves,” debuted last month (listen via widget below), and we’re now treated to a second offering with “Red Balloon.”

Streaming exclusively on NPR at the moment, “Red Balloon” is further proof of Taylor and Fink’s intent to shelve their folk-pop sensibilities and explore a more tender electronic landscape. “We looked for inspiration from James Blake, Nicolas Jaar, and Apparat in keeping the music minimal and modern,” they explain. “But still working as a textural and emotional extension of the lyrics.”

To support As Above So Below‘s release, Azure Ray will hit the road next month, including a stop at the Swedish American Hall on September 20th. Tickets are $15 and you can grab them here. Complete dates and full album track listing are below.
