We’re happy to premiere both a new track and the newly formed band behind who created it, “Indy” by Lusjoints.
Forming out of the ashes of their previous folk-rock project El Capitan, the six members of Lusjoints took a different and more eclectic, lighthearted approach to their current songwriting, throwing in the occasional synthesizer and referencing more genres in their sound. During the group’s downtime between the last el Capitan album in 2007 and the present, their members retracted from the pursuit of music, and rather, were “editing skateboard bible Thrasher; burning barns in Zion with only the help of mother nature and some over-heated preamp tubes.”
In addition to “Indy,” the remainder of Lusjoints first album can be heard on their Bandcamp. The folks out their that loved El Capitan should specifically hear the more mellow, Americana ballad “Dead Reckoning.”
Lusjoints will have both their premier as a band and their album release show at the end of the month, August 30, at Cafe du Nord with Extra Classic and Sun Life.
