New Diplomat has planned a fun little party Saturday night at Slim’s, headlining a bill that includes The Hundred Days, Kill Moi, and Ownership, with Mario Muse and Jacob Fury handling DJ duties. The alt-electronic quintet with members hailing from five different countries was the subject of a full-page Bay Area Bandwidth profile in the San Francisco Chronicle on Wednesday, and the band put together a video preview of the show, directed by Elliott Bastien Morin. Check it out:
New Diplomat’s 2011 EP Buy Yourself Some Freedom won the band local acclaim, and they have played a steady diet of shows in and around San Francisco ever since. Earlier this year, they recorded a single produced by Dan the Automator (Gorillaz, Kasabian, DJ Shadow) and recorded at Studio Trilogy in SF, and they’ve since been dubbed “San Francisco’s own buzz band” by City-based The Owl.
Get full details on Saturday night’s show and listen to Buy Yourself Some Freedom in its entirety, as well as music from each of the opening acts, after the jump.
