About a month ago we tipped you off on Evan Caminiti‘s forthcoming solo record, Dreamless Sleep, to be released on August 21st via Thrill Jockey (available for pre-order here). The Barn Owl member recently made available the first single from the album, titled “Fading Dawn”, which is free to download from Soundcloud.

The patient, instrumental track pairs drawn out synthesizers with careful, at times fuzzed, guitar notes. Take your pick on the various nature portraits this four minutes paints; we’re partial to a figure who walks deeper into the flat, sparse desert, disappearing among the heat-induced fog that rises from the ground.
