On Saturday, June 23rd, the sixth annual Bicycle Music Festival pedals through the city, with music all day and night, and all powered by bicycles. Yes, you read that right: audience members will power the fest’s sound system using bicycles attached to generators. Between the day show at Golden Gate Park’s Log Cabin Meadow and the night show at the Showplace Triangle Plaza in Potero Hill (8th St. at Irwin St.), everyone will hop on bikes and pedal through the city with music on a mobile stage. And the bands? It’s a stacked lineup including Birds & Batteries, Rupa and the April Fishes, Jazz Mafia, SHAKE YOUR PEACE!, Oona, and more.
The festival is free but donations support the performing bands. And you better show up ready to pedal!
