According to Emily Jane White, if you’re only going to come to one venue show of hers this year, the album release party tomorrow night, 6/12/12 at Brick & Mortar for her new album, Ode to Sentience, is the one to be at.

She’s going to play the entire album from start to finish. “I’ve been playing a lot of old and new material and I wanted to focus on this group of songs,” she says of her motivation to play Ode to Sentience in full. “There’s a reason I tied all of these songs together on an album. I also want to perform the songs with the current players I’m working with.”

June 12 is a good day for the record release party, because it also just so happens to be the day Ode to Sentience officially comes out via Antenna Farm Records and the deluxe digipak CD hits record store shelves. Emily will be playing with Two Sheds and Jon Porras at Brick and Mortar tomorrow night. That show is just one stop of a larger US tour in support of Ode To Sentience. Find all the dates on the tour poster after the jump.

Emily has had quite the busy year. She just got back from a tour of Japan that she says was “amazing”: “It was my first tour there and I hope to go back!” But that doesn’t mean that after her US tour, she’s going to be taking it easy. She’s already planning her next album — and it won’t just be a sequel to Ode to Sentience:

I am aiming to sonically deviate from what I’ve done in the past. I’m also aiming to make an e.p. that is much darker and more rock. I am using different instruments for the new record including various synthesizers. I’ll be playing most of the rhythmic and foundational elements of the songs myself and then potentially developing them further with other musicians. I’m looking forward to the process.
