Alt-folk band Hiss Golden Messenger recently released their fourth album Poor Moon. Featuring M.C. Taylor and Scott Hirsch, formerly of San Francisco indie rock band The Court & Spark, Hiss Golden Messenger released Poor Moon on April 17, deeming the album an exploration of Taylor’s “lone journeys through the dark night of the soul.” Taylor, who is currently based in Durham, North Carolina, does his homestate due diligence with tracks like “Blue Country Mystic,” backed by rich intrsumentals from Brooklyn-based Hirsch.

The Court & Spark disbanded in 2007, as band members separated to work on individual projects. Check out some of the tracks from Poor Moon below.
