The breakup of Bare Wires after a troubled SXSW tour broke a lot of hearts, but if you’re familiar with Matthew Melton’s past projects (solo recordings, Snake Flower 2), you know he wouldn’t be without a band for long. Indeed, Melton’s post-breakup interview with All Shook Down noted the beginning of a new band called Warm Soda, which is playing its first show on Wednesday night with Thee Oh Sees, The Mallard, and Burnt Ones at the Brick & Mortar Music Hall.
“But what does Warm Soda sound like,” you ask? Take a listen to the brand new song “Reaction” below. It’s pure pop goodness soon to be released on a Southpaw Records 7″.
