The folks of Loquat are no stranger to the Bay Area music scene. The band’s albums date back to 2003, and they performed one of the coveted local opener spots at the Treasure Island Music Festival back in 2008. And while Loquat have been laying low since then (the band’s last album, Secrets of the Sea, came out in 2008), they’ve returned full-force, fresh off a stint at SXSW with a new album in tow.
We Could Be Arsonists is out now via Nacional Records, and is full of the catchy, synth-filled tracks that we’ve come to expect from the band.
To celebrate the release of We Could Be Arsonists, Loquat will be playing at the Independent next Friday, April 27th (9:00pm, $13/advance, $15/door, 21+), accompanied by Mister Loveless and Excuses for Skipping.
